Week 14: Second Appointment Recap

Hey guys,
I know this might sound strange, but it feels like I'm both flying through this pregnancy... and dragging through it at the same time! Some days I'm like " wow I'm already 14 weeks!" Other days I'm like " Ugh, I'm ONLY 14 weeks?" I'm moving along slowly but surely.

So let me just say that I have been SO tired this week. Saturday night I went to bed at 9:30 pm and didn't get up until 9:30 am Sunday. I was so nauseous and dizzy the entire day though. Nothing I did made me feel any better. I ended up going back to sleep around 11am and getting up at 1pm. It was a super lazy day, but I'm glad I was able to just rest, despite how miserable I was.

Monday was our second appointment. Our original plan was to take separate cars, so that after our 9 am appointment we could both go straight to work. However... Baby Raffe decided that I needed to have a gag fest all morning, so Chris decided to drive us. We got to the Dr. at 8:45 and we were back in the car by 9:10. Super quick appointment! We heard the heart beat again, and then we asked some questions and we were out!

We were on the way home and I kept whining about being so nauseous. All of the sudden Chris had to slam on his breaks for a light. That was when things went down hill! Something about the slamming on the breaks really messed with my stomach. I guess everything was sloshing around in there. Chris started driving again.. and it hit me. I covered my mouth and said " OH NO!" Chris asked if I needed him to pull over and all I could say was " I don't know.. I don't know." He turned into a Racetrack gas station and I knew in that moment I was going to be throwing up in public! His car stays locked unless you are not in motion so I'm frantically trying to get the dang door open, and so is he. Finally he gets it unlocked, I fling the door open and fold over so my body is hanging out the door and just threw up like CRAZY. I'm talking 10 minutes of throwing up. Oh and guess what... It was raining, so I got drenched. I sat up for a second to try and get some air only to see Chris had his phone in my face recording the whole thing! After that I felt SO much better than I had in the last few days.

My Dr. had started me on a new medicine that she said would make me feel tired, but it would help. We picked it up on Monday night. I took one Tuesday morning and I was falling asleep the entire drive to work. I sat at work barely able to function. I knew that there was no way I could take those at work. It just wouldn't work out. I have been taking them at night though to help me sleep. Now that I'm in my 2nd tri I'm not so worried anymore, which is good.

My next appointment will be July 22 and the Dr. said if the sono tech can see the gender then we will find out then! :) So excited! I am so happy my little raffe is growing healthy and happy.

That's it for this week!
Thanks for reading!

Two for One: Weeks 12-13

Hey Guys!!
I want to start off by saying I am so amazed by the fact that there are 457 page views on this blog! Thank you to those who are reading along and reliving your past pregnancies, experiencing pregnancy with me as we speak, or to those who are just curious about what pregnancy is all about!! I hope I can  continue to keep you entertained in the months to come! :) I didn't get around to writing a blog for week 12 because I was busy and grumpy last week so this week will be about 12 and 13!

WEEK 12: I thought this was supposed to get easier now!

So as I've stated before, I started taking Zofran at week 6 and the stuff really helped me! I was able to make it through my day without feeling miserable. All of the sudden last week, they just stopped. I even wondered one day if I had forgotten to take it because I was so miserable. That's when I realized I was getting a taste of how these ladies feel who Zofran doesn't work on them. It SUCKS! All of the sudden it was like I can't just eat when I want or what I want because my body turns its nose to it as soon as I take a bite! The funniest thing is... I can eat french fries, fried pickles, mac and cheese and hold it down just fine, but the second I try and eat something wholesome..the baby laughs at me. Typical child I suppose. One night last week I literally ate jack in the box egg rolls for dinner. I've figured out that at this point.. if I can hold something down without feeling miserable 2 bites in, then its best to just go with it and try not feel guilty about it.
Friday night was fun, we went to Hooter's to celebrate my friends 27th birthday. I looked forward to it ALL week! Those wings were calling my name and I couldn't wait to get my hands on them. We got there and we had to wait at the front FOREVER ( not really but it felt like it). It was super hot so I was already in a crappy mood. We finally get our table and we order out appetizers. I ordered fried pickles, and celery with ranch. I downed the celery as soon as it came out. The fried pickles were delicious! My parents ordered some chili cheese fries. I took one bite and said.. nope, no thanks! FINALLY my wings arrived and I dug in. I made it through one wing successfully and then I started feeling sick. I kept telling myself " it gets better, just take a break and then try again" I made it through a quarter of my second wing and realized.. NOPE. :( So sad!
I've also noticed that I haven't been able to sleep as good anymore. I'm constantly waking up in the middle of the night SO uncomfortable. I've tried sleeping with a body pillow and sleeping with just a regular pillow in between my legs and still no help! I love sleeping and so this is just no fun at all!
Saturday My BFF came over and we organized the baby's soon to be closet. Before organization it was pretty much just a storage space. We found homes throughout the house for everything not baby related and it looks GREAT! :) I pretty much go in there everyday and look at all my baby things and ponder about how in 6 months I will actually be using these things, and even sooner than that, the room will be baby-fied and adorable. I. CANT. WAIT!

WEEK 13: Again... Isn't this supposed to be easier now?
OK. Now I am in week 13 which is the last week of Trimester 1! Woo Hoo. Honestly I think the morning sickness has been tougher this week than any other week. I mean honestly though.. inst this supposed to be easing up a bit? It is now to the point where I'm basically nauseous morning, noon and night. My mom found me some gum and it helps, but its $12.99 for 24 pieces so I try to only use it when super necessary. I either have to drink milk for breakfast or eat greek yogurt because my little baby raffe has decided that eggs no longer taste good. Chris bought us these delicious breakfast burritos and it smelled so good. I took a bite and started gagging on it. Monday night I drank a glass of milk for dinner. LIKE A CAT! Milk doesn't bother me at all so at least I can get some calcium in my system.
This morning I got really hot, and on top of that I was super nauseous so I thought I was going to pass out. I was so pale like a ghost. Thankfully it passed, but the nausea has been with me all day.
I've been super emotional this week and that's expected. My poor poor husband... he'll ask " Why are you crying?" The only thing I know to say is " because I can!"

I'm hoping week 14 will be better. I'll be heading to my 2nd appointment on Monday so next weeks post should be a fun one!

Until next week!

Week 11: Am I already getting pregnancy brain?

Hey guys!

It's time for my weekly update! I'm almost out of trimester one! I can honestly say that other than week 6, this week has been the hardest. I haven't been sleeping well (Although Sunday I did sleep for almost 11 hours), I've been so extremly tired, and I pretty much cant eat any type of meat now. A few weeks ago it got to the point where I could only eat chicken, and then last Friday I ate half a chicken tender from chicken express and felt super sick! Hopefully that will go away within the next week or so!!!

I'm pulling out my summer clothes and realizing that it might be time to get some new shorts! They are getting a little snug around the waist! oddly enough I've only gained a pound so far but BOY do I feel like my scale is broken or something!

The only other thing I have to write about this week is that I'm pretty sure I'm already getting pregnancy brain. Here are a few things I've done so far the past 2 weeks:

1) I missed my street without realizing I missed my street last week. I turned onto the street behind mine, made it halfway down the street and then realized I was not on my street!
2) I had an e-mail to send out last Wednesday which is something I do several times a week. I got home from work, and about an hour later went to wash my hair. While washing my hair I screamed "I FORGOT TO SEND THE E-MAIL!" So I was sitting there on my Iphone trying to send an e-mail out to thousands of people. It worked though so phew!
3) I cannot even begin to tell you the amount of times I've either left my phone in the car when I get home from work and cannot find it... or set my phone down somewhere in the house I would never set my phone and then go frantically searching around the house for it!
4) I think this one is my favorite! As you know we have Sunny and Sizzles who are chihuahuas, they get 1.5 scoops of food every meal, and then we have Saydee our pitbull who gets an entire bowl of food. I went to feed them the other day and I gave them all their bowls. Saydee kept staring at me like I had done something wrong but she is really bad about getting distracted and not eating so I just kept telling her to eat her food. Chris got home from work and went to pick up Sunny and Sizzles bowls (We feed them on the couch) Sizzles bowl was empty but Sunny's bowl looked like he hadn't eaten any of it.  Chris asked if Sunny just didn't want to eat, but I remembered him eating!!! All of the sudden it dawned on me that I swapped the dogs food amounts! No wonder Saydee was looking at me funny because I was starving her! Sizzles got a nice heaping bowl of food that day and she's chunky so she didn't mind at all!

That's it for this week. I'm hoping that this weekend I can sleep in and be lazy. It's been tough waking up at 6:30 (last week i slept until 6:45.. this week its been 6:50) I guess God is just trying to slowly prepare me for not getting much sleep once the baby gets here. I hope I can just get used to being tired! I feel like a slug today!

Well until next week! :)

Catch-up special! (Week 9 & 10)

Hey guys!
So I'm totally falling behind! Last Wednesday my company went to the Ranger game and then I came down with Bronchitis and Sinusitis so no blog last week! This week I was just really busy so I didn't get to share anything either! This week's blog post will be a little longer than normal I suppose but a lot happened in the past 2 weeks! Let's dive right in shall we!

Week 9
So this week started out well. Things were going good, I wasn't feeling too blah. Then Tuesday night my throat started hurting. It wasn't the kind of hurt where you feel like maybe there is something in the air either. It was the kind of hurt where I KNEW I was getting sick! I didn't get much sleep that night because I was waking up constantly drinking water trying to make the soreness go away, and then getting up to pee in between! Wednesday rolled around and my throat was still sore, but no other signs of sickness yet. My company took us to the Ranger game that day. It was a 1:05 game and we were sitting right in the sun! Boy was I baking! I was pretty miserable, but since no one knew about my pregnancy at work I couldn't really have a " hey there is a baby inside of me and I'm miserable" melt down. I was SO happy when my boss decided we should go hang out inside the air conditioned bar. Everyone was drinking and I was just sipping on my umpteenth glass of water! One of my coworkers asked me why I wasn't drinking and I just said " Oh I'm just not really into drinking. I have to be in the mood." (Which seriously.. I WAS in the mood! I'm at a baseball game in the middle of the day sweating buckets with a severe sore throat OF COURSE I WANT A DRINK!) Anyways... I got home from the game and I was pretty worn out. I threw on my pajamas and crawled into bed for the day. The next morning I woke up running a fever, could barely swallow water, head was pounding, I could barely talk and I had a pretty bad cough. I knew I HAD to go see my Dr. We found out I had bronchitis and sinusitis and THANK THE LORD NO STREP THROAT, just a severely swollen whelped throat. I got put on meds right away and thankfully my husband has an amazing boss so he sent him home to take care of me. Unfortunately though since I'm pregnant there is only so much I can take, and honestly I'm trying not to just fill myself up with meds right now just so I can feel decent. We've been trying other stuff like diffusing essential oils, drinking hot water with lemon and honey, rubbing Vicks everywhere, stuff like that! During the day Things are pretty bearable but my cough gets so bad at night that it normally sounds like I'm gagging. I'm now in week 10 and I'm still sick but little by little things are slowly getting better.

Week 10
Now we move into week 10! This week has been fun because it was our first appointment and sono! Being sick has not been fun but lucky for me I was off on memorial day and it was a rainy day so I was able to lounge around at home in my bed with my puppies. My appointment was on Tuesday (May 27th at 2:00 pm) Chris got off at 12 and I got off at 12:30. We arrived at the Dr. and of course I was a nervous wreck. This would be the first time seeing my baby and hearing the heartbeat and I was so worried about my little baby. They called us back and the sonogram tech. explained to us how everything would go. She then turned off the lights and it was the moment of truth! All the sudden I saw my little baby! Chris and I were so excited. Then she turned on the heartbeat and the two of us started crying! I was SO relieved to hear that heartbeat and when she told us it was a good strong fast heartbeat I was overjoyed! Next thing we knew the baby flipped over where it's front was facing the camera! It's little hands started moving up and down like it was dancing or waving. OMG did it feel good to not only hear my baby's strong heartbeat but to see it moving around :) PERFECT! She told us everything was measuring at 10 weeks, and that our due date was 12/23/14! Christmas baby!!!! We then met with the DR. who told us everything was good and of course we asked her about a million questions. My next appointment will be June 23rd. :) I wanted to wait until 12 weeks to make things Facebook official, but my husband and I had compromised and decided that once we saw the baby at 10 weeks that we would go ahead and tell everyone. Although I had to tell my boss first! So Wednesday I went into his office and told him the news and he was totally cool with it! I felt so relieved and now I didn't have to wear baggy clothes to work every day! So that night my BFF came over and we decided to take a pic with all my puppies and our sono pic! It turned out adorable ( Even though my sweet little man Sunny was the only one not smiling.. but that's ok! We have gotten so much support and love from our friends and family and I know this baby will be SO loved! So with that I'll end this post with our ever so Facebook official photo!!!

Week 8 Is a Pain in My Back... LITERALLY!

Well its Wednesday again which means it's time to get my blog on about this pregnancy. This week the major thing has been back pain. My lower back has had such an excruciating pain. It feels like when you get a nerve pinched, except it is on both sides of my lower back. The only thing I can think of is that possibly my hips are spreading which is causing the pain. Other than that I don't know what on earth is going on down there!
I've been so much more emotional this week too. I mean I cry over EVERYTHING! "I'm uncomfortable, I'm tired, I'm annoyed, You're being stupid, You're being annoying, The dogs won't leave me alone, I really wanted this food and it made me sick..." Just a few of the things I've been crying about! I'm still keeping this a secret at work so I've been trying to wear my baggier clothes. The problem is that the clothes that were baggy on non-pregnant me... are starting to get a bit snug. I constantly feel like I just ate a huge meal, which keeps me from eating as much so I guess that's good... but still... constantly feeling bloated and over full is not all that fun! If I could wear my pajamas to work everyday... I totally would!
This week I keep dreaming about spiders.. and they are always over my head above my bed in my dreams so I wake up screaming and asking my husband for help. He of course looks at me like a crazy person when he realizes there is no spider... I never have dreams like that so I'm wondering if it is pregnancy related. I guess only time will tell!

I think that's it for this week. I've still been getting sick, I'm still extremely tired, and I'm still pretty mean!

I have 1 1/2  more weeks until the first Dr. appointment and I cannot wait!!! I'm so anxious to get in there and see exactly how far along I am, when the baby is due and that my sweet little raffe is healthy and happy!

Until next week...

Into The 7th Week I Go...

Alright guys,
I guess I'll start doing these every Wednesday.. or I'll continue doing these every Wednesday. I noticed just now the other 2 posts were made on Wednesday so sounds good to me. So let's see... not a whole lot is going on right now. Oddly enough the nausea pills seem to not work on the weekends.. which is horribly unfortunate considering that this past weekend I spend the ENTIRE day Saturday with my family and nieces and nephews...For half of that time I was laying in my Mother-in-law's bed because I was so miserable! Oh and pork and red meat do not mix with this little baby right now! Luckily I can eat chicken all day long with no issues and veggies don't bother me either. My parents cooked us steaks the other day and they were amazing and I took 2 bites and realized it wasn't gonna work out. Eating while pregnant is so interesting. I'll take a bite of something and it will be the most amazing tasting thing on the planet, then by about bite 5 I'm like " nope... I'm gonna barf!" The one thing that does seem to really help my stomach is pickles.. which is great because I love pickles! I just started taking them to work with me so when I eat my lunch if it makes me feel sick I just eat a pickle.
This week the baby is the size of a blueberry and doubled from the size it was last week. How AMAZING is it that something can go from the size of a molecule to the size of blueberry in just 7 weeks (technically 5 weeks because the first 2 your not actually pregnant yet) It's mind blowing to me. Especially that by week 9 the baby ACTUALLY looks like a real baby just super teeny tiny.
I'm feeling my ribs and hips expanding and it just feels like my bones are really tired. I'm trying really hard to keep a good attitude because I wanted this baby and because this is a blessing, so although it is uncomfortable and sometimes I am down right miserable, I'm trying to just put on a happy face! I'm trying really hard to start walking at the park a few times a week. Its an advantage either way because my 7 month old puppy needs the workout and the social interaction and I need the workout.
Anyways... That's pretty much it for this week :)

Morning Sickness? More like ALL DAY SICKNESS!

Hi guys!
So here I am in week 6. As soon as I found out I was pregnant I got an app that is AWESOME! It tells you how big the baby is (Lentil), new changes that might be occurring and things to come. Of course I started reading ahead to see the size progression of the baby and different symptoms and stuff. It says most women start getting morning sickness around week 6. Now last week I would feel sort of sickly if I ate too much, or if I was hungry but nothing I couldn't manage. I swear my body flipped a switch on Monday and said "alright woman... guess what, it's miserable time!" I was having hot flashes which made me feel nauseous. I was trying to straighten my hair and I was getting so upset because I just did not feel good! That feeling lasted all day! Yesterday it was a little worse. Today... has been... AWFUL! I barfed a little while brushing my teeth which totally defeats the purpose of brushing your teeth, I was so dizzy on my way to work. No amount of snacks or cheese or green tea lattes has helped me! So I caved. I called my Dr. and asked to PLEASEEEEEEEEEE get me something for this nausea business because mama needs to work, and right now mama can't concentrate because baby is stirring up some sort of chemical ruckus in me! I'm waiting for a call back from the nurse to say my prescription is at the store. Oh I need some relief! I don't know how women deal with this business without medication. Its misery! I don't know who reads this, and I don't know if everyone reading this has had babies yet... but if you haven't and you're curious to know what it feels like to have morning sickness... let me share it with you the only way I can think to compare this to. So you know the whole "liquor before beer in the clear/ beer before liquor never been sicker" saying? Well I'm sure we've all been dumb enough to drink beer before liquor, or in my case malt beverages. Or we've mixed a lot of different liquors which normally doesn't set well. So sometimes you throw up while partying.. and usually feel better. The worst thing is to keep on drinking after right? So when you keep on drinking after you throw up you might be OK... but the next morning all hell will break loose! I say this because I did that, on my birthday, last year. The day after I woke up and thought I had died and I kept thinking " I'm gonna barf.. I just know it!" Even though most of the time you don't actually throw up.. you just feel miserable until the next day. Well that's what it's like to have morning sickness: You feel super hungover all day long, sometimes you barf, sometimes you don't. The only difference is that a new day does NOT come.. because you start the hangover feeling all over again the next day! YIKES! So to the ladies who don't get morning sickness, please count your lucky stars. To the women who do get it, but don't take anything... y'all are some strong mamas because I refuse to feel this way!
I'm not craving anything today, although Sunday I was craving shells and cheddar and a pepperoni Totinos pizza. Yes I indulged! That's why pregnant women don't belong in a grocery store! We are bound to come home with tons of stuff that we don't need.

Well I guess that's all for this week :)
